Tournament statistics

The tournament statistics page in instantLIGA app contains a lot of fun facts. As sports enthusiasts, many of us enjoy learning interesting statistics while watching a game on TV. Obviously, it's even more interesting when it's statistics about your own tournament.

In this post, I'll explain the tournament statistics page. This information might be a bit technical, but I'll try my best to make it easy to understand.

How to view tournament statistics and analytics

If you're managing a tournament or sports event, you have a natural interest in monitoring its progress and gauging its popularity among participants and spectators alike.

In the app, everybody can now view an instantGraphic.  Instant because provides real-time updates on the tournament's progress through numbers, text, icons, and graphs.

View event facts

Managers, participants, and even the press can easily access data on the size of the event.  The data is static and doesn't change during the tournament, but often changes during planning.

Follow the tournament progress

You can track the progress of completed matches using the progress bar provided in the background.

You can view the number of goals, points, and wins accumulated throughout the tournament, as well as the average per match.

Find out about tournament delays

As the tournament administrator - or as a participant - you can monitor the average delay of the latest matches.  This is valuable information if you are asked about delays but also helpful for planning the future events.

The delay is calculated as the time from the planned end of a match until it was actually reported done. This means that the delay may be influenced by the reporting style used.

Find the number of views for your tournament

You can view the number of web and app views your tournament has received, with the history for the last 14 days displayed in the background. Note that a view is counted as a page-load in the browser, and app launches are counted alongside refreshes, rather than unique users as most web-analytics tools do.

Lastly, you can keep track of how many times the tournament administrator has saved their planning progress. And during the tournament, you can see  how many match results have been reported since the tournament began.
